Wolwevers
Wolwevers strive to weave the finest blankets from Dutch heather wool.
From day one, we were amazed by the high quality of this wool from the Kempen Heath sheep. We are surprised that the vast majority is still being destroyed, simply because there is no market.
Wool (Re)discovered
Sheep wool was presented in a new light in the Dutch Design Week exhibition Wool (Re)discovered, which aimed to get visitors talking about Europe's unloved fleeces. One-and-a-half million kilograms of wool are discarded each year in the Netherlands alone, Eindhoven-based organisation New Order of Fashion told visitors in the opening text of its exhibition.
Landschaap
Shepherds maintain the biodiversity of the landscape and the wellbeing of the flock while preserving culture. But their achievements are mostly invisible and undervalued.
Shed & Heddle
Shed & Heddle is a project by designer Pollyanna Moss and weaver Eva Klee that exposes knowledge about weaving with wool in the North Brabant region.
